Whilst COVID-19 lockdown restrictions remain in place, training delivery will be conducted remotely, using their remote delivery model, consisting of a mix of tutor-led ‘virtual classroom’ workshops (via Zoom and MS Teams), short online course tutorials and customer calls, providing 1-2-1 phone or digital support.
Our client is a leading training provider and is currently looking to recruit an Employability and Skills Tutor to deliver accredited basic and employability training; teaching and assessing ICT and Functional Skills (Maths and English) and Employability provision and vocational courses (warehousing) support to unemployed clients seeking employment and those wishing to progress in work.
To work on provision funded by the ESFA, the DWP and the Combined Authority for the region and to plan and deliver innovative teaching sessions to inspire and motivate learners.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:Teach and assess Functional Skills English / Maths / ICT to learners on employability programmesDevise a programme of learning (scheme of work) with appropriate teaching and learning strategies, resources and assessmentsMaintain and enhance the quality of the learning experience for candidatesSupport Curriculum Manager and vocational tutors within curriculum areas to embed Functional Skills in schemes of work and lesson plans.
Skills/Experience:Relevant teaching qualification (e.g. Cert Ed or appropriate Basic Skills Teaching Qualification – C&G, RSA, PTTL or TEFL)Experience in Further Education, Welfare to Work and the work-based learning sectorSuccessful applicants should have experience in delivering Functional Skills (Numeracy, Literacy) and ICT from Entry Level 1 to Level 2Ideal applicants will also be qualified to deliver accredited employability and vocational courses in warehousing.The job holder will require an Enhanced Disclosure from the DBS (formerly known as CRB check).Some reasonable business travel will be expected from Applicants
