Our client is a leading global provider of occupational health and assessment services and is currently looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Occupational Health Nurse to strategically lead on policies/procedures and support their national employer client base with hands-on occupational health assessment and health surveillance.
This is a new and exciting opportunity and the successful candidate will provide a crucial role within the organisation. Therefore, in addition to nursing and occupational health experience, our client is looking for a candidate who can take the lead and is both innovative and highly motivated.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop effective policies and procedures in compliance with relevant legislation and good practice
Undertake sickness absence and management referral consultations for a wide range of conditions
Work autonomously and utilise a wide range of clinical skill sets in order to undertake the role and make effective decisions
Exercise sound clinical judgement skills to be able to identify when to refer onto another specialist (ie Occupational Health Doctor)
Maintain knowledge of all professional nursing and occupational health matters
Support the ongoing development of services
Deliver health surveillance services
Evaluate the results of medicals and surveillance provided, and ensure that the correct advice in relation to fitness is communicated, escalating where clinically appropriate
Report Writing
Assist in planning and commissioning services
Skills/Experience:
Essential Skills:
You will need to be a fully licensed registered nurse
A minimum of 2 years Occupational Health experience
Health Surveillance experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Have an understanding of the biopsychosocial model
Experience dealing with senior management referrals
Computer literacy
The successful candidate will be required to implement and review protocols and procedures so experience and comprehensive understanding of the OH remit is required and should be fully proficient in the provision of:
Spirometry
Audiometry
Skin Assessments
Fit for Work Assessments
Running Health & Well-being activities and supporting clients with Health & Well-being initiatives
Case Management
Health Surveillance
Pre-placement questionnaires
Health promotion
This role does involve national travel so a full clean driving licence is essential
