Our client is a leading membership/skills/assurance organisation and is currently looking to recruit an experienced Skills Engagement Manager with extensive experience of qualification and assessment development, both hands on and in a position of authority (will have worked in an awarding body). This role is the linchpin between policy, employers and the development of apprenticeship standards and training. You will engage with employers and stakeholders across the sector, leading engagement with Trailblazer Groups in the review of the apprenticeship standards alongside the maintenance and development of NOS with the devolved nations.
A thorough knowledge of qualifications, apprenticeship and the technical education policy landscape is essential.
Leadership of standards development:Lead the organisation’s engagement with Trailblazer Groups in the review of apprenticeship standardsWork with employer groups to support the development of new apprenticeship standards and/or registration schemes, leading on initial scoping activityLead the maintenance and development of national occupational standards, qualifications and apprenticeship frameworks for use in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Policy:Working closely with the policy team, understand and interpret government apprenticeship, skills and related policy to inform strategic direction Co-ordinate employer responses to consultations to ensure the needs of the sector are understood.
Stakeholder Management :Manage and influence key apprenticeship stakeholders, including Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education, Education and Skills Funding Agency, Ofqual etc.Build and maintain effective and efficient working relationships with relevant officials within key government departments and their agenciesLead engagement with apprenticeship initiatives.Work across all teams, building effective relationships with the Client Management, Policy, End Point Assessment and Registrations Teams.Build and maintain effective working relationships with employers as required.
Skills/Experience:Graduate or working at graduate levelExtensive knowledge of apprenticeships and/or regulated qualifications Thorough knowledge of qualifications, apprenticeship and ideally technical education policy landscapeDemonstrable experience in a role of responsibility, relating to qualifications and assessment developmentExperience of engaging with and building relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders at all levelsExperience of managing multiple projects, taking a structured project approach and delivering against tight deadlines.High level of communication and presentation; expresses opinions, information and key points of an argument clearly; makes presentations and undertakes public speaking with skill and confidence; able to project credibility.
